NAKED PUPPETRY
This project came about as an idea after we were looking at films which use motion capture. We thought it would be great if you could do motion capture at home. That got us thinking … maybe you could with a simple webcam.
We liked the idea of the different characters you can get with a sock puppet and the idea was a perfect fit with the sock puppet being a mirror image of your hand (only its got cloths on).
It does help if you’ve got a good webcam. If your webcam only updates slowly or has poor resolution you might have difficulties. It’s also best if you have good lighting and and a white background.
I apologise in advance for any accents or voiceovers I did, I’m a developer not an actor.
Thanks also goes out to Justin Windle who has done some great things with flash webcam interaction and who’s work gave some pointers when we started on this project.
So there you go. Feedback or comments would be great, so just drop us a line if you’ve got something to share. _
